Now these were the heads of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel. (1 Chronicles 11:10)

“God had a plan for David to become King all along, but David had to be patient yet active for God’s timing. This is a perfect example of what it means to be content, but not complacent. It is hard when God reveals to you plans He has for your life, but you must be patient with Him for his perfect, good, right timing. David knew God had a plan, as he trusted in the strong leader. David was shown to be a strong leader because he was given destination by walking behind or beside the strongest leader. David was never alone. David had the company of God the Father, Jesus the Savior and the comforter/convictor the Holy Spirit. David trusted God with direction, decision and vision. God gave good directions while making wise decisions and was clear when giving David His vision. God gave His best leadership by giving David ownership and relationship. David had ownership and relationship with all his Mighty Men, his kingdom and his family. Most importantly David had relationship with God. David was patient yet active for God’s timing. David was content, not complacent.”
