Seeing As God Sees

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

2 Kings 6:16-17

Elisha’s situation seemed impossible. The Aramean army had them surrounded with more men and better equipment at a time when they were most vulnerable. God was the only source of hope for Elisha and his city. What would have been our natural tendency in this situation? 1) compromise with the enemy? 2) ask God why He let us down? 3) beg the enemy for mercy and prepare to die?  If we live by faith in God each day we will begin seeing things as He does. As a student, there will come times in every semester when situations seems too difficult to overcome.  When that time comes, remember that impossible situations simply become opportunities for God to display His power and deliverance.

Be a light for Jesus today as you see your see situations through God’s eyes!
